Hum tum
Hum Tum Aur Ghost was the first Indian film to be shot in the picturesque town of Newcastle
When Arshad Warsi decided to turn producer he wanted the best for his film, including the shooting locales. Since the story of Hum Tum Aur Ghost was UK-based he preferred to shoot in Newcastle, a small town in north England where no Indian film had been shot before. "It is one of the most picturesque cities I have seen," gushed Dia Mirza, the lead actor of the film. "The shopping square is an exotic mix of the old-world charm and new buildings. And every flavour of this beautiful town has seeped into the film. All the characters look as if they belong to the place. You can see the depth of the place in every scene from an indoor one like Arshad’s home, to my office, to the outdoor ones where we are seen walking on the streets. Unlike other films where the indoor scenes are shot on sets, it has been shot in Newcastle giving the film a unique and real feel," said Dia. She also called it the party capital of the world, saying that people there party regularly with the most outrageous themes like men dressing up as women. “One can encounter people in all stages of undress on the streets in the evening. I have seen men in skirts and bras, and women wearing the most outrageous clothes. It is hilarious!" she laughed.
The six week schedule during the months of June-July comprised, besides Dia, Boman Irani and Sandhya Mridul. Directed by Kabeer Kaushik, the film is an emotional journey of Arshad, a fashion photographer, who is an insomniac, and Dia, a fashion magazine editor, releases on March 26.

Katrina Kaif will shoot Dhak dhak a la Madhuri Dixit in Tees Maar Khan
The shooting of Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan took off in Film City in Mumbai on March 2 and will continue till March 10 after which the cast and crew will head for Malshej Ghat near Nashik. It is there that Katrina Kaif will dance to the tune of Dhak dhak (Beta), one of Madhuri Dixit’s most sensual songs. "Katrina will do a village belle number like Madhuri. I’ve given her Madhuri’s DVDs to watch, so that she gets the right expressions and the thumkas. The song will be choreographed by chief choreographer Geeta Kapoor and me," said Farah Khan, who is also directing the film. Katrina is so kicked about the song that she is taking time out to study Madhuri’s facial expressions, her movements, and is practicing non-stop to do justice both to the song and to Dixit!

Akshay Kumar’s generous act on the sets of Khatta Meetha
Though the film is now in post-production, the cast and crew of Khatta Meetha will always remember the last day of shooting at Baramati, Satara. Lead actor Akshay Kumar, who is also the producer of the film, personally went to each of his production personnel and handed over a cash bonus. Akshay who plays a common man (along the lines of R. K. Laxman’s famous cartoon) in this satirical take on the road mafia, took almost two hours to distribute the money. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film is scheduled to release this summer.
