Bethireddy Srinivas, founder-President, Sri Kalasudha, a popular Telugu Association in Chennai honoured film personalities at a grand function held as part of the Association’s Ugadi celebrations. The Ugadi Puraskarams were given away by M. Subramaniam, Chennai Mayor to ace Telugu comedian, K. Brahmanandam, music director R.P. Patnaik, actors Vishal, Sneha, Tamanna (who received the special jury award) and producers C.C. Reddy (his representative received on his behalf) and producer C. Kalyan. The award consisted of a silver crown, shawl and a memento. Jhansi’s sprightly anchoring coupled with Prasa Mani’s lively compeering enlivened the evening’s proceedings. Veteran cinematographer V.S. R. Swamy, Katragadda Prasad, Secretary South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, producer Aditya Ram participated. The event marked with colourful cultural programmes.

V Thashi, Kerala State’s best music director award winner for the year 2006, has composed and recorded a devotional music album, Sivagurunatha Thirupaamaalai which was released by C.
