Slap stick
Recently, Sreesanth landed with a slap from bhaji and the latter was banned from further IPL matches. On the sets of Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan too, much ado happened over scene that required Gunjan Walia who plays the character of Laksmi to slap Pavitra, played by Jasvir Kaur. Jasvir simply refused to be slapped by her co-star and demanded a change in the script. She even threatened to quit the show if forced to go ahead with the slapping scene!
Family bonding for real?
Neha Bamb and Shilpa Shinde who play loving sisters in Zee TV’s Maayka could not stand each other till some time back. So much so, that they even avoided to be shot in the same frame. Situations however took a U-turn, much to the director’s relief. The two have not just made up but seem to have grown fond of each other in recent times. They were even spotted sharing food from the same plate. In another interesting incident it was reported that Zarina Wahab and Shilpa who play the mother daughter duo took a few days off from their shooting schedules and went together to Ajmer . Either both of them are taking their characters too seriously or its just the case of reel life being extended to real life. This Maa-Beti jodi is definitely a hit.
Jaspinder, best live performer
Jaspinder Narula, expectedly, was voted India’s Best Live Performer was voted captain of the Dhoom team in a grand finale that was held live at YRF Studios. The final duel was between Richa Sharma, Devan Patel and Jaspinder Narula. Rani Mukherji presented the trophy to the winner. An overwhelmed Jaspinder Narula said, “I am delighted to win the title of “India’s Best Live Performer”. Winning and losing is a part of life, but then the happiness of victory counts the most! I would like to thank God, all my friends and family who have supported me in this competition! I would also like to thank everyone at NDTV Imagine and all my co-participants who have been very helpful and encouraging .We have become one large family in the course of these 16 weeks.” Will this win bring the hi-power singer back into reckoning in Bollywood remains to be seen.
Role reversal
The theme of this week’s episode of Comedy Circus is role reversal where men dress up as women and vice versa. Shruti came in dressed as Shakeel with a thick moustache while Shakeel walks in with a burkha. The first pair of the evening was Kamya Punjabi who came in as Ilzaam Sharma and the Rajiv Thakur came in as cheer leader, who are in too much of controversy due to IPL 20-20 series. Rajesh Kumar and Rajeev Nigam came in dressed as bollywood background dancers. Sudesh Lahiri and Krushna were onstage as their respective companions…Sudesh as billo took the show away completely from Krishna who had come is as Kashmira. The real test of Krushna was that he had to perform it in front of Kashmira as she had come to see how he emulate her on stage. Arbaaz Khan, Sikander Kher and Neha Oberoi are the special guests. The episode will be aired on May 17 at 10 pm.
Perfectionist Riddheema
Ridheema aka Mehek of Annu Ki Hogai Wah Bhai Wah is apparently a perfectionist. Not only does she try to give her best shot every time but she also pays a lot of attention to her look and her dialogues. In the show she enacts two roles that are poles apart- one of a plain Jane and the other as a outrageous glam girl. Says Riddhima, “I belong to UP so I have good command over Hindi language and I do improvise a lot of lines and phrases like I say hum instead of main and even in terms of expressions I make sure that it looks convincing. As far as the look goes I am very much involved with it, right from the colour of the lens to the kind of hair-do, I ‘m always contributing ideas.”
Romit in Bidaai?
Recently actor Romit Raj who stars in Ghar Ki Laxmi Betiyaan and Maayka played a cameo in Rajan Shahi’s Sapna Babul ka Bidaai as himself. He was seen in the show for a birthday sequence with actress Parul Chauhan and Sara Khan. Rajan and Romit had worked together in Ghar Ki Laxmi Betiyaan. As a result of which Romit holds a deep gratitude for the director. Incidentally, so confident is Rajan about Romit’s acting skills that he has kept the cameo track in Biddai open for Romit should he choose to be a part of the show.
Romit has also caught on to the trend of blogging and has created one for himself where he can interact with his fans and keep them updated on the latest happenings in his life. The newly redesigned website will also include scenes from his shows. He has also included conversations with his friends from the television and film industry on the website.
