They include Asin, Suhasini, Pooja, Nila, Karthik and a few others. Explanatory replies are expected from them within 15 days and depending on their replies, action will initiated against them. Mumtaj who was hospitalised in Mumbai and Arya who met with an accident during a shooting sent letters of inability to attend and they were let off. Other prominent film personalities who also face a red card for their absence are Mani Rathnam, Ilayaraja, Bharathi Raja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Karthik Raja and Vidhyasagar.
The industry is peeved with the way the TN Government has put on hold the Hogenekkal project citing elections in Karnataka as the reason. The film fraternity felt that they were betrayed and their effort to create a awareness has gone waste. They also felt that by stopping work for a day, the industry has also lost crores of rupees besides the shooting schedules gone haywire.
