Launch Vehicle
Shaapit is not exactly the most conventional horror film. It has a love story that seamlessly integrates with it and that is what made me take it up. I play Kaaya, a sweet simple girl who falls in love with Aditya Narayan. My character is that of a girl who is stuck in a generational curse which does not let her get married to anyone. Aditya is determined to get married to me and the film is about their struggle to stay together
Casting Coup
I wasn’t too keen on beginning my career with a horror film. But when Vikram Bhatt narrated the script to me I was more than happy to be a part of such a project. It wasn’t too difficult; I wanted to do the film after a couple of meetings.
Stepping-Stones
I haven’t done any professional acting courses as such. I did television for a while, played the lead role in Dekho Magar Pyaar Se, so that’s about it. Everything has been hands-on. I have learnt it all on the sets.
First Shot
I was feeling nervous and excited on the first day of the shot. In fact whenever I landed up on the sets I would get all jittery and had butterflies in my stomach. I wasn’t scared but a little anxious and was looking forward to having a really good time.
Stumbling Block
I am a very positive person and I never look at problems like stumbling blocks. My mother always says that whatever happens, happens for the good and that is how I live life too. So far, so good, let’s see what happens next.
Lessons Learnt
I am too young to say anything about the lessons learnt. One film doesn’t teach you too much about the industry and the working but small things like patience go a long way.
Matinee Idol
I never grew up idolising anybody in particular because I never wanted to be in this profession. Things just clicked and I just happened to become an actor so I really don’t have an idol as such. If I had my way I would love to work with everyone in the industry.
Future Projects
I am extremely busy with Shaapit and haven’t signed anything new. Whenever I sign anything new an announcement will be made.
