Congratulations to B'lore police by Dr DVKrishna on 2009-03-10 15:32:20.46377+05:30 Congratulations to Bangalore police for arresting unruly law-breaking drunkards and drug addicts who were indulging illegal activities including illicit sex and nude dancing. It is highly deplorable that some sections of electronic media like NDTV and CNN IBN are supporting the law breaking rich kids and criticizing the police for doing what they are supposed to. The TV show "Don't Stop My Party" on CNN IBN is shocking. It seems they are encouraging the youth to use drugs and indulge all sorts of immoral activities. These same TV channels scream out about police inefficiency. All this hue and cry is because the ruling party in Karnataka is BJP. Going by the logic everyone has the right to live and behave the way they want, why should there be a ban on narcotic drugs, why should there be any law. Let us not demoralize the police by supporting these spoilt, irresponsible brats who drink up to brim, drive cars and trample people on the roads.

rave party by Hirsh on 2009-03-09 23:02:36.317048+05:30 We have to as Indians decide where we want to go as a society. Do we want to ape the US and turn out like them - a shattering society with innumerable social problems from rape to murder to teenage pregnancies to everything else. Or do we want to have SOME morals and character and preserve Indianness and Indian values. And not use the intellect to justify anything and everything as some Indians do by calling ever reaction to preserve Indian values as being actions of the "moral police". This doesnt mean people should be beating up others for going to the bar but that there should be serious attempts to educate people about themselves and their culture. What people do after that is then their own business.

Rave party by Dr B Sundara on 2009-03-09 14:02:09.963224+05:30 Social networking groups for good cause should be welcomed. But now it appears social net working taking a nasty turn of having rave parties. There could be lot of alcohol flowing and even drugs in such parties. The local persons arranging such rave parties may have to be identified and necessary action taken against them if they were involved in unlawful activities. The farm houses being located ouside the cityin the rural environments, may even cause social disturbance in the rural areas too. For the larger good of the society, the action of the government need to be appreciated.

Party Poopers by Guru Mart on 2009-03-09 13:41:13.83463+05:30 What about the politicians and people who work in buildings with the lable" Government work is God's work"? Our public figures are really good and decent in private, unlike those who drink, smoke and dance in public who are then caught and thrown into prison. It appears that our leaders are holy joes and they never indulged in horsing around with smoking, alcohol and women. They are goody goody people both in private and in public. Maybe we should ask the Lok Ayukta to write books (that we could include in the schools syllabus) about their good morals and character and ask our youngsters to learn from it rather than blameing the western culture for all our social ills!

Pink Chaddis! by Ram Nath Babu on 2009-03-09 13:05:51.500377+05:30 REnuka should send pin chaddis to the judges who denied bail to these ladies from the respected families! After all it is the birth right of every citizen to wine and dine and then to have any act which they deem fit. Who are the police and judges to interfere in these matters. India is a free country and everybody should be given complete freedom to lead the life the way they want to. Otherwise, we will send them pink chaddis!

1 law..
by am on 2009-03-09 13:11:52.887613+05:30u sud nt confuse this incident with mangalore pub attacks. In Mangalore, pub attacks, some moral-police beat up some ladies. Here, some ladies were breaking the law. So, they are arrested. In Mangalore, the ladies were not breaking a law.Understand the difference. Nobody supports breaking of law.

2 Follow the law
by Varun on 2009-03-09 13:03:01.736292+05:30How is wearing a pink chaddi worse than beating up women who are lawfully having some fun in a Mangalore pub.In any case, you break the law- you go to jail. Just like Ram sene barbarians.
