ATN to launch three regional channels

ATN International will launch three regional language channels in near future to cater to the increasing market demand.

Company managing director Santosh Kumar Jain said the company would make a foray into Rajasthani language for the first time in the country besides launching two more channels in Gujarati and Punjabi. Jain said more emphasis was being put on regional language cha-nnels taking into account the scope for doing business in the language market.
He announced that the company had tied up with Shin Satellite Public Company Limited of Thailand for transmitting ATN World - a global channel for Bengali speaking viewers through its satellite.

The channel which was launched a few months ago in analogue system had been converted to the digital in keeping pace with the world trend. Under the new system ATN would be able to cover over two-third of the world’s population in 126 countries including those in Asia, Australia, a part of Europe and South africa.

This is the second channel of ATN - the first being ATN Bangla, which caters primarily to the Bangladeshi viewers.
