




Vivek Oberoi got his first break in Bollywood in Ram Gopal Varma's ‘Company’. This film, which earned critical accolades, provided Vivek very sound footing as a promising entrant in the world of Indian cinema. He also received Filmfare wards for the Best Debut as well as the Best Supporting Actor categories. Vivek, then, starred in the action films such as ‘Road’ and ‘Dum’.
He was paired alongside Rani Mukerji in Yash Raj Films’ ‘Saathiya’ (2002) directed by Shaad Ali. ‘Saathiya’ became a big commercial success and also was appreciated critically earning many accolades for Vivek. He has also received Best Actor nominations at various award functions.
Vivek also starred in ‘Masti’ (2004), a comic flick along with Aftab Shivdasani and Ritesh Deshmukh. ‘Masti’ also did very well at the box office. He also starred in the critically acclaimed film ‘Yuva’. ‘Kaal’, his 2005 release was also successful venture.
Another remarkable achievement for Vivek came in 2006, in ‘Omkara’ an adaptation of Shakespeare's play Othello. This movie was critically acclaimed not only in India but overseas as well. He played the character of Kesu based on the character Michael Cassio in the original play.
In 2007, he won wide spread praise for his role as the gangster Maya Dolas in the multi-starred ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, which turned out to be a super hit.
