Shahid Kapur was born on 25th February 1981 to Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azim. They divorced when he was three years old. He is a trained dancer and studied dancing with Shiamak Davar. He was part of his dance troupe and was one of the background dancers in Aishwarya Rai’s song ‘Kahin Aag Lage’ in the film ‘Taal’. Before coming to films he had also been a part of a music video with Hrishita Bhatt who he was rumoured to be dating then. He also acted in a Pepsi Ad with Shah Rukh, Kajol and Rani.

He made his film debut with Ken Ghosh’s Ishq Vishk in 2003 for which he won a Filmfare award.

He has been more famous for his relationship with ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor than the fate of his films. Although many of his films didn’t do well he was always seen as a promising actor with good looks and excellent dancing skills.

His gave a bit hit in 2006 with Sooraj Barjatya’s 'Vivaah' and in 2007 he starred in the super hit film 'Jab We Met' in which he starred with Kareena after which they broke up.

'Jab We Met' went on to be the biggest grosser of the year. In 2008 his first film with Aziz Mirza, 'Kismet Konnection', was released in which he starred with Vidya Balan.
