




Born on 5th August, 1975 Kajol gave up her studies at St. Joseph’s school in Panchgani when she was 17 and made her Bollywood debut with Bekhudi in 1992. In 1993 she gave the super hit Baazigar with Shah Rukh Khan and initiated the start of a hit on-screen couple. All her 5 films with him so far have been super hits – Baazigar, Karan Arjun, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.
In 1998, she created history by becoming the first woman to win the Filmfare Best Villain Award for her performance in the love triangle cum thriller Gupt.
She married actor Ajay Devgan on 24th February 1999 and took a five year sabbatical during which she also had her baby girl Nysa. She came back with a bang in 2006 in Fanaa starring opposite Aamir Khan for the first time and playing the role of a blind girl.
She is also the cousin of actress Rani Mukherjee and actor Mohnish Behl.
Her father, film producer Shomu Mukherjee, passed away on April 10th 2008 from a cardiac arrest.
