Poli Bhava
Ajay Kumar turns hero
To be different seems to be the motto of director P
Sukumar. We have heard of celebrations when a girl reaches puberty. How about
such a celebration for a boy? The director comes up with such a novel idea
in Poli Bhava. A song sequence depicting the boys coming of age was
picturised at Mysore by cameraman Mallikarjun. With this song, Nimishamba
Devi Productions Poli Bhava is complete. Folk singer and lyricist Gururaj
Hoskote has penned a song for the film. Maruti is the music director.
Writer Ajaykumar is making his debut as hero. Also
in the cast are Archana, Reshma, Girija Lokesh, Ashalatha and Honnavalli
Krishna.
Prathyartha
Hollywood `clone progresses
Kannada cinemas talented director, Sunilkumar
Desai, is shooting for his next movie, Prathyartha at a frentic pace in and
around Mysore. The film, arguably similar to the recent titleless Telugu
release, is said to be a carbon copy of The Nick of Time.
After initial hiccups of call sheet problems involving
Raghuvaran, the film completed a hectic schedule at Lalith Mahal Palace,
Mysore. Girish Karnad, who replaces thespian Sivaji Ganesan for the role
of the Home Minister, Ramesh and Raghuvaran participated in the shoot.
Venugopal wielded the camera for the film which is
produced by BK Manjunath and GV Srinivasa Reddy of Samyuktha Creations.
Jaggesh in Rasakutty remake
Jaggesh, the famous comedian of Kannada cinema, plays
the role of K Bhagyaraj in the Kannada version of Rasakutty. Producer N
Purushottam who recently announced this project, added that when he contacted
K Bhagyaraj for the rights to make Rasakutty in Kannada, the response from
the renowned actor-director was tremendous, especially when he was told that
Jaggesh would play the key role. K Bhagyaraj has also agreed to attend the
muhurat of Rasakutty in Kannada.
The Kannada version is yet to be titled. Victory Vasu
of Putmalli, Rakshaka, Central Jail and Gunda Mattu Police fame will be directing
his first remake. Hamsalekha will provide the music and lyrics, Sundernath
Suvarna is the cameraman and Prakash Trishuli contributes the dialogues.
The song recording of this film was held on January 18 and the muhurat of
the film will be held soon.
Thimmaraya
Sadhu Kokila as hero
Director Shivaji Rao
Singh Mane is directing a comedy, Thimmaraya, with which music director-comedian,
Sadhu Kokila turns full-fledged hero.
Anjali Nagaraj cranks the camera for the film which
stars Sindhura Gujjar, Nisha, Tennis Krishna, Pushpaswamy, Direndra Gopal,
Umasri, Joe Simon and Satyabhama.

Final schedule
progresses
A hit is a must for hero Raghavendra Rajkumar, as his
home banner production enters the final schedule of shooting. Only two songs
are left to be completed for the Singeetham Srinivas Rao directed Tuvvi Tuvvi
Tuvvi. The film is slated for release soon.
The film has story, screenplay and dialogues by Richard
Louis, music and lyrics by Hamselakha, action by Thriller Manju and
cinematography by BC Gowrishanker.
The hilarious comedy also stars Charulatha, Mandya
Ramesh, Vinayaprasad, CR Simha, Ashok Rao, Jayanthi and Doddanna.
Jai Bharatha Mata
Title changed
A film on the ill effects of casteism which is rampant
in rural Karnataka, Jai Bharat Mata is now complete. The earlier title Jathiyo
Jathi is now changed to Jai Bharatha Matha on the advice of the Karnataka
Film Chamber of Commerce, according to producer Suresh Anchan. The socially
relevant film is now in the dubbing stages. SB Ramachandra has penned the
story, screenplay, dialogue besides directing the film. Gurukiran of A fame
has provided the music. Vikas, Jyothi, Padmasri, Swathi, Sampritha, Babu
Pooja, Ronald Gomes and Jayaram Rai are in the cast.
The former minister of Karnataka state Amarnath Shetty
appears in a guest role.
Idhu Entha Premavayya
Ramesh, Shilpa teamed
A harsh war of words between husband and wife in the
court hall relating to the divorce petition filed by the wife was recently
canned by BS Basavaraj under the direction of Kodu Ramakrishna. Ramesh and
Shilpa play husband and wife in the film, titled Iddhu Entha Premavayya.
Gurukiran has composed the music and Joe Simon has
penned the screenplay. Jai Jagdeesh, Charulatha, Rajesh, Avinash and Padma
Vasanthi and Pushpa Swamy are also in the cast.
Mr X
Climax scenes filmed
The action packed film, Mr X is now complete. At the
birthday party of the heroine (Charulatha), she is kidnapped. Raja who witnesses
this scene chases the car on his motorbike. But he is soon surrounded by
a Maruti 800, Sierra, Opel, Tempo Traveller and a few lorries. Keeping cool
in the midst of the attack, Raja, a black belt Karate champ, shows his exemplary
skills. This climax was picturised with the help of a steady camera and two
routine cameras.
Directed by HS Rajasekhar, the film has action by Jolly
Bastin, music by Sadhu Kokila and art by Ismail. Devraj, Raja, Swarna,
Charulatha, Avinash, Shobaraj, Satyajit and Sunil Puranik are also in the
cast.
Aryabhatta
Ready for release
Ambala Arts Mysores maiden venture produced by
Sri Raman of Pittsburg has entered the re-recording stage at Prasad Recording
Theatre. This film starring Ramesh and Soundarya is directed by Ramanath,
a debutant. Sujatha Ranganath has provided the story and dialogue and Kitti
Rangamancha is the associate director.
Also in the cast are Devraj, Ramya, Avinash, Sudhakar
Patil, Bank Janardhan, Girish Shetty, Raghunath, Bhagirathi and Master Vinayak
Joshi.
Rambhe Nee Vayyaradha Gombe
Kaushik, Akhila teamed
Reddy Creations maiden production Rambhe Nee... has
been cleared by the censor board with a U certificate after cutting
a few scenes. A joint production of S Raja Reddy and MD Kaushik, the film
has Sethus special effects and Kaurava Venkateshs stunts.
Rambhe Nee... starring Kaushik with his own direction
slated for release soon has Akhila in the female lead. CR Simha, Shivaram,
Indhudhar, Sampangi, Sriram and KV Manjayya are also in the cast.

Multi-starrer rolls
The Neeladri Amusement Park, the venue for the muhurat
of Chinni Chitras Habba wore a festive look on January 5 as the artistes,
industry bigwigs and film fans thronged to witness the proceedings.
Superstar Vishnuvardhan, actor and MP Ambarish, Devaraj,
Sashikumar, Ramkumar, actress and TDP MP Jayapradha, Urvashi, Kasturi,
Vijayalakshmi and Charulatha are all in the cast. Directed by D Rajendra
Babu, the film has story by GK Bhairavi, dialogue by BA Madhu and music and
lyrics by Hamsalekha.
BILINGUAL
Bharat 2000
Final schedule commences
A nine crore bilingual in Kannada and Telugu, Bharat
2000, produced by business magnate, Ramoji Rao, completed the climax shooting
at Jakkur Airport, Bangalore recently.
Four helicopters, 40 jeeps, four Nissan cars and one
Contessa were utilised by director SV Rajendrasingh Babu. Seven cameras were
pressed into action for this eight-day action packed climax. Stunts were
directed by Vikram Dharma.
The lead artistes of this bilingual (Mechanic Muddanna
in Telugu), Dr Rajshekhar, Rambha, Jaijagdeesh, GK Govinda Rao, Brahmanandam,
Anil, Vishwas, Priya and Ayusha took part in the climax shot. With this the
film has entered the final schedule.Surendranath has penned the dialogue,
Kamalakar Rao is the cinematographer, MM Keervani is the music director and
Hamsalekha, the lyricist.
Nuvva Nena
KSR Doss returns
KSR Doss, known fpr his actioners, makes a comeback
with Sri Swetha Vahana Films Nuvva Nena, a bilingual in Telugu and
Kannada (Billa Ranga). Says producer Vempally Ramesh Reddy, The film
starring Suman, Napoleon and Devaraj is an action thriller. Ravali and Raksha
are the heroines. The film is complete ready for release. Suman plays the
role of an angry young man who takes revenge on the chief minister, while
Ravali plays the chief ministers daughter in love with Suman.
Napolean plays a security officer and Devaraj a Naxalite. Mohan Raj plays
the villain and Sudarshan the chief minister.
The film is slated for release in February. Dialogue
by Rajashekhar, music by Koti, camera by Ravinder and action by Dinesh are
the main credits. Presented by Vempalli Kavitha Reddy, Nuvva Nena is co-produced
by T Sambasiva Reddy and C Chaitanya Raju . |
