The Voice of
America (VoA) is planning to join hands with All India Radio. VoA
is negotiating with Prasar Bharati to air its production on terrestrial
as well as some regional channels of AlR. According to VoA sources,
it is willing to provide software in English, Hindi, Urdu and Bengali.
The VoA provides product ions to 1,400 radio stations the all over
world. The VoA has already tied up with some leading cable television
operators for their audio channels.
ultisystem operators
(MSOs) of Kochi, Chandigarh, Mumbai and Delhi are broadcasting VoA
programmes. It is in talks with Kolkatas leading MSO, RPG
Netcom, which has a tie-up with BBC World Service for its Radio
Snap audio channel. VoA claims that over 90 million people all over
the world tune in to its various productions.

Punjabi has tied up with Pepsi in its talent hunt where the teams
will be going out in seven cities in search of promising singers.
T-Series is the official music company supporting the event. Called
Pepsi Ban Ja Staara Yara, the participants will go through the exhaustive
rounds of prelims, semi finals and mega final to emerge in the final
round. Eminent personalities from the world of music will adjudge
the contest. In its quest to cover the whole of Punjab, the events
are held at towns of Moga, Hoshiarpur, Bhatinda, Amritsar, Jallandhar,
Patiala and Ludhiana. Talent hunt will begin with quarter finals
lasting from 2 May to 11 May 2002. Semi final will be held from
15 May to 19 May 2002. The grand finale will be held at Ludhiana
on 25 May 2002. Malkiat Singh will fly in specially to perform for
the grand finale of the contest. etc Channel Punjabi has the exclusive
rights to telecast these events immediately after each contest.
T-series will cut an album to turn the winner into a national Punjabi
Pop Star.
