A tribute to Panchamda

Nusrat Fateh Ali KhanPartners In Rhyme has come up with a tribute to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan with an album titled Tere Bin Nahin Lagda. "From very young age we have been great fans of the mighty Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. We always had a great desire to work with the ‘King’. But it never happened," say the duo of the group, "So we decided to pay a tribute by composing a special song. Our original song was Ankhon se tu door as a tribute. When we were going through some Khan Sahib vocals to insert into that song, we suddenly came across the vocals of Tere bin nahin lagda. We asked Ayyub of Oriental Star Agencies, our record company, who had also signed Khan Sahib, if we could have these vocals. This song was never originally planned for this album. But later on included in Timeless."

The first three albums of Partners In Rgyme House of All Nations, Once Upon A Rhyme and Distant Voices have sold in excess of 250,000 units worldwide, making PIR one of the most sought after production teams. While Distant Voices glowed with the status of being one of the biggest selling debut albums released in India by an NRI act, the panache of both song and video of the track Chandni Raten became a mainstay of music and video shows. This song alone went onto claim a prized nomination as the Channel [V] Best Re-mix Video in 1998, as well as winning numerous album accolades in the U.K.

PIR played their role in the first ever Bollywood film single - Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani. PIR’s remix of the title track introduced a whole new vibe to the somewhat tedious sound of film music.

Almost three years since the last album, PIR return with their new self-titled offering Partners N Rhyme. Here, they have gathered together the past, present and future. True to their word, they deliver a timeless album featuring Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Alka Yagnik, Kavita Krishnamurthy to namer a few.
