Khalnayakon Ka Khalnayak launched
Virk Film’s maiden venture Khalanayakon Ka Khalnayak was launched with a muhurat at Shakti Kapoor’s bungalow, Madh Island, on April 26. The muhurat was followed by a 5-day shooting schedule. The film, being produced by GP Singh and jointly directed by GP Singh and Sunil Shroff, is written by GP Singh and Sharif Ahmed and has music by Pramod Nair, lyrics by Vimal Kashyap and cinematography by Ramesh Nath. The film stars Deva Saab, Bindu Kamath, Dharmendra Rana, Raza Murad, Ali Khan, Ramesh Goel, Gurbachan, Sudhir, Dev Malhotra, Birbal, Manmauji, Majid Khan, Dipeksha, Sakshi, Mahesh Raj and Siraj Khan. Two songs have already been recorded in the voices of Bindu Kamath, Suresh Anand and Surendra Kumar.

Aaj Ki Heroine No 1 negative cutting
The negative cutting of Sonam Picture’s Aaj Ki Heroine No 1 started on April 16 at Adlabs and the first print will be out very soon. Being readied for May release all over India, the film stars Neeraj Bhardwaj, Sapna, Anjali Kolhapure, Raza Murad, Anil Nagrath, Ali Khan, Divesh, Aftab and Siraj Khan. The film, written and directed by Ravi Kumar and jointly produced by Siraj Ahmed and NK Gupta, has music by Babu Kishan, dances by Shanker Vyas and cinematography by Manish-Jahangir.

Teerat Singh Johar to direct Mera Mission
Producer Dhansukhlal B Doshi has signed Teerat Singh Johar to direct Doshi Films Enterprises’ Mera Mission in which pop singer Raajarsh Saini plays the male lead. Scripted by Lalan Kumar Kanj, the movie co-stars SK Raja, comedian Johny Flower and Preeti Makwana. The rest of the star cast and technical crew members are being finalised.

Musical launch of Preet Ke Jung
Producers Amrit Batra and A Chandrakar and Director K Chandra had a musical launch for their regional film in Chhatis garhi language, Preet Ke Jung with the recording of four songs between April 16 and 21 at Tune and Awwa Recording Studios, Mumbai, under the baton of music director Amin Chandrakar. The songs, written by Jafer Raza, were rendered by Suresh Wadkar, Vinod Rathod, Shradha Tak and Chhayadhar Bharati. Being made under the banner of Nikita Arts International, and with a script written by Chandra Kaushal, the movie stars Bunty and Anbha in the romantic lead along with Irfan and Vishnu Baghel.

Two songs recorded for Cover Story
Producer Raj Kukreja and music director RD Sagar have recorded two songs for Mohan Movies’ Cover Story on April 20 and 21 at Singh-N-Sound Studios, Mumbai. Shabbir Kumar and Simmi Sinha rendered the songs. The entire dubbing work for the film Cover Story has been completed recently in Mumbai. It is a Suresh G Sheth presentation movie, which features Tabu, Suresh Gopi and Vijay Menon in stellar roles and is directed by GS Vijayan.

Ek Lootera shooting complete
Producer, director and editor Jeetendra Chawda completed a week-long final shooting schedule between April 15 and 21 for Ishwar Films’ Ek Lootera at Essel Studios and other locales of Mumbai. During the spell, the climax, a song and comedy scenes were picturised on Dharmendra, Ali Khan, Pramod Mautho, Razaak Khan, Shazad Khan, Poonamdas Gupta, Durgesh Nandini, Prithvi, Sudha Chandran, Kulbir, Gurubachan, Jogindra, Dolly Bindra and Anil Nagrath. Sawaan Kumar Sawaan has composed the musical score.

Khatra
Producer-director and editor Jeetendra Chawda has completed another two days’ shooting stint for Ishwar Films’ Khatra held at Essel Studios, Mumbai. Prithvi, Poonamdas Gupta, Anil Nagrath and newfind Reena featured in the scenes filmed during the spell. Sawaan Kumar Sawaan is composing the musical score.

Jigarwala progresses
Producer Neha Rajput and director-editor Jeetendra Chawda have completed an initial three days’ shooting schedule from April 26 to 28 for Maa Vaishno Devi Films’ Jigarwala at Hira Nandani Quarry and Surve Farm, Panvel. During the spell, action and dramatic scenes were picturised on Dharmendra, Mohan Joshi, Raza Murad, Deepak Shirke, Shiva, Razaak Khan, Hyder Qazmi, Arif, Feroze, Sunny, Vinod Tripathi and Anil Nagrath. Sawaan Kumar Sawaan will score the music of the film.

Yeh Dil Ashiqana complete
Producer Aroona Irani and director Kuku Kohli completed the final week-long shooting stint for AK International’s Yeh Dil Ashiqana on April 29. During this spell, two songs were picturised on the new romantic team Karan Nath and Jeevidha under the supervision of choreographer Saroj Khan. One of the songs was canned on a lavish set erected in Filmistan Studio while the other was picturised at Lokhandwala Complex, Hiranandani Complex, Powai and Film City. The film also stars Rajat Bedi, Mukesh Rishi, Johnny Lever, Aroona Irani and Nupoor with new find Vishal and Aditya Panscholi. The film has cinematography by Baba Azmi, choreography by Farah Khan, action by Kala Singh, art by Amit Mishra (Pappu), sound by Naeem Sheikh, editing by Sanjay Jaiswal, lyrics by Sameer and music by Nadeem-Shravan. Meanwhile, the dubbing of the film is also nearing completion at BR Theatre. Aditya Pancholi and Rajat Bedi have completed their dubbing.

Arjun-Devaa post production
The entire shooting of Makewell Films’ Arjun-Devaa has been completed and its post production work is now in full swing. The dubbing of the film is currently in progress at the BR Dubbing Theatre. Produced by Gautam Dhariwal and directed by Imran-Khalid, the film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Puru Raaj Kumar, Rutika Singh, Ritu Shivpuri, Sapna, Shakti Kapoor, Gajendra Chauhan, Hemant Birje, Brij Gopal, Vikrant and Jay Thakur. It has been written by Meeraq Mirza and has music by Gunwant Raj-Ram Shankar.

Kashmir Hamara Hai first copy out
The first copy of writer-producer-director Ratan Irani’s Kashmir Hamara Hai, a Jayantilal Gada presentation, came out at the Ramnord Lab on April 27. Amrish Puri plays a pivotal role with Mukul Dev, Milind Gunaji, Mayuri Kango, Shama, Mouli, Deepak Tijori and Rahul Dev. Dev Kohli’s lyrics have been set to music by Anand Raaj Anand.

Na Tum Jaano Na Hum progressing briskly
PFH Entertainment Ltd’s Na Tum Jaano Na Hum is fast progressing with a 14-day schedule at Nayar Bungalow in Madh Island, Mumbai, which commenced on April 20 April and will conclude on May 4. Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Esha Deol, Moushumi Chatterjee, Rati Agnihotri, Alok Nath, Smita Jaykar, Anang Desai, Rajashree Solanki, Shilarna Vaze, Umesh Kariya, Sonali Kapadia, Bhavana Ruparel, Azan Cooper and Aamirzyade are taking part in the shoot. Arjun Sablok directs the film which has music by Rajesh Roshan and lyrics by Anand Bakshi. The cinematographer is Nataraja Subramanian and the editor is Shirish Kunder. . Raju Khan choreographed one of the songs picturised on a mammoth set created at Nayar Bungalow. The song was picturised on Esha Deol, Mousuhmi Chatterjee, Rati Agnihotri, Alok Nath, Rajashree Solanki, Shilarna Vaze, Umesh Kariya, Sonali Kapadia, Bhavana Ruparel, Azan Cooper and Aamirzyade.

Mitter Pyare Nu Haal Muridan Da Kehna unit returns
Following the completion of month-long shooting on various locales of Chandigarh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, Mitter Pyare Nu Haal Muridan Da Kehna (Punjabi) has returned Mumbai. Many dramatic as well as romantic scenes and three songs were canned during this schedule. Being made under the banner of United Entertainment Group, the film is produced by Avtar Singh and Bakshish S Bahia. Written and directed by Ratan Aulakh, the film stars Dara Singh, Rama Vij, Vindu Singh, Sheeba, Rajeshwari Sachdev, Daman S Maan, Seema Siddhu, Deep Dhillon, Avtar Gill, Rana Jung Bahadur, Mahendra Shera, Gopi Bhalla, Adarsh Gautam, Yash Shah, Surinder Sharma, with Mahendra Sandhu and Mukesh Rishi and introducing Baljeet Singh. Lyrics by Shabab Alawalpuri and Ratan Aulakh, music by Dilip Harikishan, cinematography by Baldev Singh, editing by Anil Gandhi, sound by Anil Saxena and choreography by Pappu Khanna are the major credits of the film which is being shot in Cinemascope and will have Dolby Sound.
