Jatin Garewal

Jatin Garewal’s desire to become part of the world of fashion and modelling made him leave his hometown Nainital for Mumbai. Soon, he became the hottest model in town after winning the ’98 Gladrags Manhunt. Today, he is all set to make his debut as a actor in Rahul, the Mukta Arts film directed by Prakash Jha. He has also signed three other films being made by Mukta Arts


Your nick name...B’day... Zodiac sign?

Bunty... July 18... Cancer.


How did you hit upon the idea of becoming an actor?
I wanted to do something unusual, so I opted to make Mumbai my second home. Here, I landed up as a model. Later I became a stage actor and today, here I am with my debut film Rahul.


Do you believe in destiny?

I do, but then, who doesn’t? Sooner or later, one realises it plays a very essential role in one’s life. Destiny, to me, is the right combination of work, luck and time.


Your greatest passion in life?

Now that I am in this profession, acting is what I am passionate about. I’ve always loved to visit places, meet new people, observe them and learn new things.


How do you overcome depression?

The first thing I do is hunt for my bed and have a sound sleep. After that I invariably that find I’m ready to face life again in an absolutely fresh state of mind.


When happy, with whom would you love to share the feeling and how?

I hang around with my close friends, go for a long drive and eat lots of chocolates.


Who is your mentor?

God, who else?


How important is music in your life?

Music to me is as important as songs are to Hindi films.


Who are the people you admire the most?

Almost every star. I admire many of them, and I’ve tried to learn a lot from them.


If not an actor, what would you have been?

Ha! Ha! I knew I would be an actor. I knew I was destined to be one, so there is no question of wanting to be anything else.


How would you describe yourself in a nutshell?

A happy, easy-going man.
