Rustic love
Poonkuyilay, being produced under the banner of Manithan
Cine Arts by TM Jaymurugan ,
who is also the director and music composer, is a story of
love triangle between Udaya, Vindhya and Livingston. It is
a usual tale of a rich girl falling in love with a poor cousin
Udaya. The girls father Vijaykumar is a terror. Once
he had chopped the hand of Curran for having held Vindhyas
hand. To complicate matters, there is another cousin Livingston
who also woos her. Cinematographed by Kichas, the film has
Manivannan , Rithika, Vyapuri and Iillavarasi also in the
cast. Jayamurugan denied the reports that he had left the
locales of Pollachi without paying for the hotel and cars.
He showedvouchers signed by his manager for the cash that
he has paid to him for the hotel and transport.
Narasimha
Vijaykanth turns producer
Vijaykanth, currently the top box-office draw in Tamil filmdom
after the roaring sucess of Vanathepol which ran for 25 weeks,
and Vaalarasu which had a 100-day run,produced by his brother-in-law
Sudish under the banner of Captain Cine Creations, has now
turned producer by joining his brother-in-law and launched
Narasimha with newcomer Tirupathi Swami as director. The films
muhurath was held in Chennai where a large gathering of filmfolk
turned up to greet the actor, who has acted in more than 130
films and has the sole distinction of having all these films
in Tamil only. He has refused to act in any other language
even though his films dubbed in Telugu have a big market.
Many of his films have been remade in Hindi, too.
Operation Veerappa
Film on Dr Rajkumars abduction
RK Selvamani, the director of the all time hit, Captain Prabhakaran,
has decided to make a sequel Operation Veerappa. It is about
the abduction of Dr Rajkumar and his release. Prabhakaran
dealt with the exploits of a charachter close to the sandalwood
smuggler. He directed a film Kuttapathrikai based on the Rajiv
Gandhi murder and the investigation. The film is banned by
the Censors and has been in the courts for the past several
years.
