Kanwar to introduce Arya

Producer Raj Kanwar will introduce Raj and Nadira Babbar’s son Arya in his next venture, to be made under the banner of Inderjit Films. A newcomer is also to be launched as the leading lady in the film which will soon go on the floors.
 


Venus signs Priyanka

Venus Records and Tapes have signed former Ms World Priyanka Chopra to play the leading lady opposite Bobby Deol and Abhishek Bachchan in their next film to be directed by Abbas-Mustan.

 


Pitaah song recorded

Music director Anand Raaj Anand recorded the first song for Aryaman Films’ Pitaah in Mumbai last week. The song written by Praveen Bhardhwaj was sung by Anuradha Sriram. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Avinash Adhik, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Nandita Das.

 
 

Jodi No 1 on April 13
Time Films International’s Jodi No 1 is to be released on April 13 all over India. The film produced by Pravin Shah and directed by David Dhawan, stars Sanjay Dutt, Govinda and Monica Bedi and Twinkle Khanna.

 
 

Aankh Micholi rolls

Dream Merchants Enterprises’ Aankh Micholi being jointly produced by Nitin Manmohan and Ram Gopal Varma went on the floors last week, with the commencement of an 118-day shoot. Directed by debutant Taufeeq Baraskar, the film stars Nana Patekar, Urmila Matondkar, Saif Ali Khan and Sayaji Shinde.

Climax for Love Ke Liye...

Director E Niwas picturised the climax scenes for Dream Merchants’ Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega in a five-day shoot from March 6 at Vasai Fort. Produced by Nitin Manmohan and Ram Gopal Varma, the film stars Saif Ali Khan, Fardeen Khan, Aftab Shivdasani, Sonali Bendre and Twinkle Khanna and has music by Vishal Bhardwaj.

Raghavendra Rao to direct Govinda

Producer GA Seshagiri Rao has signed Govinda to play the lead role in Padmalaya’s next. Directed by K Raghavendra Rao, the film will roll on March 11 in Hyderabad.

Tera Mera... progresses

Producer NR Pachisia and director Mahesh Manjrekar have started the third schedule for Ratan International’s Tera Mera Saath Rahen from March 7 in Mumbai and Poona. The film, starring Ajay Devgan, Sonali Bendre and Namrata Shirodkar, has music by Anand Raaj Anand.

Shaahid in Aashiq Tumsa Nahin

Alisha International have announced their next, Aashiq Tumsa Nahin to be shot entirely in Australia and New Zealand. Presented by Mariya Mues of Australia, and written and directed by M Maroof, the film stars Shaahid Khan. An Australian artiste is to play the leading lady.

Salaam Mohabbat... in Sharjah

Alisha International’s Salaam Mohabbat Tujhe Salaam is to be shot entirely in Sharjah. The film, presented by Col Rashid of Sharjah, is written and directed by M Maroof and has Shaahid Khan in the leading role. Two top actresses and an actor are to be signed shortly.
