Happenings: AB springs a surprise

Date: February 29. Time: 12 pm. Venue: Mahalaxmi station.Director Vipul Shah has hired a train to shoot his film All The Best. Paresh Rawal is playing a posh beggar and so is sporting dark glasses. No, he’s not a blind beggar. On the platform he gets down to have a cup of chai. The chaiwalla gives him a lottery ticket and Paresh is saying that someday he will be a crorepati. And guess what? The man who promises to make a crorepati everyday is overhearing the conversation. Yes, Amitabh Bachchan is also shooting for All The Best at the station. As soon as the crowd on the station spotted the superstar they started calling out to him, “Aaiye, bathiye, khelte hai, Amitji.” The ever-smiling star waved out to the crowds blowing flying kisses.

Bachchan arrived at the station exactly at 12 noon and the moment he was spotted, there was chaos. People started crowding the platform, the bridge and what have you to catch a glimpse of their favourite star who suprised them by changing his outfit right there. In their frenzy, people were even crossing tracks and starting perching dangerously close to the edge of the platform. The security had a tough time controlling the mob.
