Sharjah to Sharjah
Jayaram in comedy

JAYARAM’s forte being comedy, director Venugopan has taken up a humurous story of a rebellious son of a noted judge escaping to the Gulf due to various problems he has created. After a long silence, he lands back in his hometown as Shiek Mohamed Al Membaini from Kuwait saying that Shiekhdom has been conferred on him. His escapades in the Gulf where his relative Kochunni stays, and the duo’s foolery in Kerala form the story. Jayram plays the rebellious son, while Dilip is Kochunni. Venugopan, who directed Kusurithikruppu, directs this comedy. Camera is by P Sukumar and music is by Mohan Sithara. The film is produced under the banner of Karthika Evi Combines.

Karumadikuttan
Kalabhavan Mani as hero

THE combination of Vinayan and Kalabhavan Mani resulted in Vasanthiyum Laxmiyum Pinne Njaanum, which not only won awards for Mani at the state and central levels but was also was one of the biggest box-office grossers. This duo is together once again in Karumadikuttan. Mani plays the title role. He is a member of an ancestral upper class family but his mother is a peasant and that makes him a misfit in both the strata of society. When the news spreads that Karumadikuttan is in love with Nandini, a girl from the upper class, it creates a social stir and leads to an explosive end. Kaushalya plays Nandini. Rajan P Dev, Saikumar, Janardhan, Athira and Mena Ganesh are the other artistes. Story by Pallaseri, music by Mohan Sithara and camera by Alagappan are the major credits. The film is produced by Surabhi Cinema’s Samson J Panadan.

Mazhameghapravukal
Unseen love

MAZHAMEGHAPRAVUKAL is the story of a girl living in the hilly areas of Kerala falling in love with a youth just by seeing his photograph and going head over heels for the guy whom she has not seen in flesh and blood. She even spurns a childhood friend, who is after her and loves her very much. this passionate love story has Lalu Alex and Pragati as the parents of the son whose photograph made Kavya Madhvan go head over heels. Krishna plays the childhood friend who refuses to let go of his lady love. Jagathy Sreekumar plays an important role in this film. Direction and story is by Jayan Thirumana and cinematography is by P Sukumar. The film is produced by Gangadharan and Pradip Chokli under the banner of Malayalam Cinema.
