ROSHNI

The light of love

Ripple set to create ripples with this love story

Roshni is a ray of light from a young company thriving on new talent and treatment. Ripples Picture Entertainment stepped into show business on February 14, 2001. This being Valentine’s Day one wasn’t too surprised to learn that Roshni is a love story. Love comes into the life of two dashing models, Bikram Saluja and Milind Soman in the form of a modern-day Menka (that’s dewy-eyed debutant Kiran Zaveri’s new name). And life is never the same again for them or the rest of their film family made up of Kashmira Shah, Archana Puran Singh, Smita Jaykar, Viveck Vaswani and Dalip Tahil.
All the seven songs have been recorded under the baton of music director Anand-Milind and the unit will fly off across the seven seas to shoot them and other dramatic scenes on March 20, 2001.
The film is being produced by Rajesh Bhatiya, Hemang Desai and Sudesh Iyer. Vikram Razdan is the executive producer. The team plan to creates ripples with five films every year. One of them, Priyadarshan’s Sunil Shetty-Mahima starrer, Yeh Tera Ghar Yeh Mera Ghar, is almost complete.
Roshni is being directed by Karan Razdan who has also written the story. Razdan has scripted some of Subhash Ghai’s films earlier like Trimurti. According to the writer-director Roshni is an intense film delving into the man-woman relationship through its characters and the sudden twists in their plot. London forms the backdrop of the film and love in its many splendours, is its life.
