Michael Jackson falls on broken foot

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Reuters

LONDON: Pop superstar Michael Jackson has fallen on his broken foot, forcing him to cancel a trip to see friend Macaulay Culkin on stage in London.

Doctors gave Jackson "strict instructions" to rest after he tripped at his London hotel, a spokesman for the singer said. His foot was in plaster and he was already on crutches after falling at his California ranch. Jackson had planned to see Culkin star in the acclaimed London theater hit "Madame Melville" on Thursday night. "The last thing in the world he would do would be to let a long-time friend like Macaulay down, but as a singer and a dancer he has to be seriously careful with his feet," the spokesman said.

Jackson flew to Britain this week to publicize his "Heal The Kids" charity with an emotion-charged speech to Oxford University's venerable debating chamber.
