PRIYANKA CHOPRA SIGNED: Ms World 2000, PRIYANKA CHOPRA has been signed to play the lead along with Sunny Deol in Anil Sharma’s next, The Hero. One more beauty queen is to be signed to play the second lead in the film, the love story of a spy.


PANINI TO DEBUT: PANINI, son of the legendary Raaj Kumar, is to make his debut in Mumbai Masti, a film being directed by Suneel Khosla. Produced under the banner of Siddham Arts, the film is expected to be complete by April.

 


SHAH SCRIPTS TAMIL MOVIE: VIPUL D SHAH, known for his serials like Dekh Bhai Dekh, I Love You and Battle of Bollywood, who now directs Chalti Ka Naam Antakshari on Star Plus, has just written the story, screenplay and dialogue for the Tamil film, Minnale. Directed by R Madhavan and featuring Abbas and Reema Sen in the lead, the film is now being screened in theatres in Tamil Nadu.


LISA FILES DEFAMATION SUIT: LISA RAY, who made her debut as an actress in Kasoor, recently, has filed a defamation suit in the Mumbai High Court against a moviemag for an article written against her by Ashok Banker.

 

LATA TO PERFORM: LATA MANGESHKAR is to sing on stage at a concert organised to raise funds for the earthquake-hit in Gujarat. Others to participate in the event to be held at the Shivaji Park Ground on March 5, are Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Alka Yagnik, Suresh Wadkar, Sudesh Bhosle, Kumar Sanu and Udit Narayan.
