Sushma
seeks comments on alleged dues of Mahajans family firm
Union
Information and Broadcasting Minister Sushma Swaraj said last
week that she has sought comments from the officials of her
ministry regarding media reports that a firm, owned by the
family members of Union Information Technology Minister Pramod
Mahajan allegedly owes Rs. 6.5 crore as dues to the Prasar
Bharati.
"I
came to know of the issue only through media reports and have
already sought the comments of the officials of my ministry
in this regard," Swaraj told reporters.
In reply to a question, Swaraj said any further action could
be taken only after receiving the report from the concerned
officials.
Media reports have suggested that Integral Productions, in
which Mahajans wife and son have major financial interests,
owes Rs. 6.5 crore to the Prasar Bharati.

Indiavisions logo released
Malayalam cine actor Mohanlal last week released the logo
of the ambitious Indiavision channel. The logo and the name
of the channel Indiavision (Bharat Darshan) suggests that
it captures the essence of the life and times we live in.
Indiavision Communications Limited Chairman M. K. Muneer,
MLA, said that the vision of the promoters of the Indiavision
channel was to maintain and promote value-based ethics, tradition
and culture of the nation as a whole.
The channel would never deviate from humane values, he promised.
Its intention was to project the real values of human life
and inculcate humanity.
Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen split
The renowned music director pair of Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen
have split and decided to compose music individually.
Dilip Sen said personal differences led to their
split. Elaborating on the reasons, he said that the differences
arose when both started feeling that each one was working
harder than the other. "It is a kind of respectable divorce."
The uncle-nephew pair have 85 hit films including Yeh Dillagi,
Aflatoon, Aaina and others to their credit.

Doordarshan bags UNs FAO award
Doordarshan has won an award given by the Food and Agriculture
Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations for its commitment
and contribution to food, agriculture and rural development.
The award was presented to Doordarshan on behalf of the FAO
by former President R. Venkataraman last week on World Food
Day. The award is also in recognition for Doordarshans
significant contribution in promoting Telefood, the annual
international event tailored to fit national opportunities
through a global telecast.
Doordarshan has been actively involved in Telefood since its
inception in 1997 and is one of the few networks which has
contributed to the first telefood campaign with a 15-minute
documentary Food for All: The Inside Story.

Madonna, Jennifer Lopez to star at MTV awards
U.S. pop superstar Madonna will be among the performers at
this years MTV Europe Music Awards, the organisers have
announced.
Also joining the line-up of stars at pop musics "Oscars"
next month in Stockholm will be actress and singer Jennifer
Lopez and Latin favourite Ricky Martin.
Lopez will use the occasion to give a live premiere of the
first single from her forthcoming album. Madonna, Lopez and
Martin will join U2, the Backstreet Boys, the Spice Girls,
Robbie Williams and Moby amongst others making appearances
at the event on November 16.
The organisers announced that French actress Virginie LeDoyen,
who starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in the film The Beach,
would be one of the presenters together with the likes of
Alice Cooper and The Cardigans.

to co-host Sawaal Dus Crore Ka on Zee
Manisha Koirala will co-host Sawaal Dus Crore Ka on Zee TV
with Anupam Kher. It may be recalled that Zee decided on Kher
as the shows anchor person after Madhuri Dixit and Govinda
declined the offer.
Zee has positioned the show on the 8.30 to 9.30 pm slot, in
direct competition with Kaun Banega Crorepati on STAR Plus.
