Screen - The Business of entertainment

Chittara continues telecast
Suprbhata Kannada satellite channel’s maiden mega-serial, Chittara, by Sunil Puranik has commenced shooting. It has already been telecast for 55 days on the 9.30 p.m. slot. Sunil Puranik, already a familiar face on the small screen, is directing his own story, and JM Prahallad, the State Award-winning Best Lyricist is providing dialogues for this serial. The different shades of personality found in real life are likely to be found on this show, the makers claim. Sunil Puranik, Hemanth Hegde, Srinivasaprabhu, Shashikumar, Bharath, Sriraksha, Vanishri, Jyothi, Bank Janardhan, Venkat Rao, Radha Ramachandra, Shailaja Somashekhar form the cast, while Srinivas and Anil are the cameramen. V Manohar is the music director and Shivakumar is the editor.

Bhoomika begins

The eagerly awaited serial, Bhoomika, starring noted South Indian actress B. Saroja Devi in the central role began on October 9 from Monday to Friday at 8 to 8.30 pm. The pathos, agonies and anxieties of working women and their hostel life form the crux of this story. Noted Kannada film-maker and programme director of Suprabhata channel N. R. Nanjunde Gowda has picked up several real life incidents to add perfection to this 260 episodes show. Veteran Kannada film artistes Srilalitha and Jaijagdeesh are playing key roles. Hema Panchamukhi of Kannada film America America, Mandya Ramesh, Karibasavaiah are also in the cast. B. S. Basavaraj is the cameraman and Hemanthkumar provides the title song and background music.

Children’s tale on Chandana channel

A tale for children by SSK Creations Mari Kanive Rahasya is receiving good response from the viewers. This serial is aired from 8.30 pm to 9 pm on the Chandana channel from Monday to Friday. The serial consists of six songs of which three have already been recorded. Bank Janardhan, Dingri Nagaraj, Ashok Sandeep, GR Srinivas, Dattakumar, Master Bharath, Master Raghavendra, Shashank, Sudha, Prasanna are also in the cast. MB Shivakumar and Satish Krishnan are the episode directors while photography is jointly handled by Thulasi Ganesh and Raghu Eediga.
