- The Real Hero
Director
Shankar, who has also written the story and screenplay
and producer AM Ratnam, started a 20-day location shooting
of Nayak - The Real Hero in Mumbai, Panchgani and Pune.
Many scenes, songs and action scenes are being picturised
during this schedule featuring all the artistes. Anil
Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Amrish Puri, Pooja Batra, Johnny
Lever, Paresh Rawal, Shivaji Satam and Saurabh Shukla
play key roles, while Sushmita Sen appears in a special
role. The film has music by AR Rahman and lyrics by Anand
Bakshi. |

Lata’s concert
in Pune 
Lata
Mangeshkar will perform at a live concert in Pune on
December 16 to raise funds for the Dinanath Mangeshkar
Memorial Hospital, Pandit Hridayanath Mangeshkar announced
at a press conference in Pune. The show, he said, is
expected to raise Rs 3 crore. Among those who are expected
to feature in the programme are Amitabh Bachchan and
Hrithik Roshan. The show will be compered by Harish
Bhimani and the stage arrangements will be supervised
by Raj Thackeray of Shiv Udyog Sena.

‘ AB’s birthday
on KBC set
Even
as people from different parts of the country gathered
outside MAANSA to greet Amitabh Bachchan on his 58th
birthday, he slipped out unnoticed in his van to Film
City to shoot for two new episodes of KBC. The set at
Film City was also overcrowded with well-wishers and
among them were a group of child patients from the KEM
hospital, whom he greeted individually. He shot till
late in the night and then went home for a quiet dinner
with his family.

Aashiq
progresses
Director
Indra Kumar, producer Anil Sharma and the unit of Shweta
Internationals Aashiq returned to Mumbai after
completing a 25-day shooting spell in Switzerland, Austria,
France, Italy and Germany. Four songs and several scenes
were picturised on Bobby Deol, Karisma Kapoor, Mukesh
Rishi, Ashok Saraf, Rahul Dev, Smita Jaykar, Nazzar
Khan and Anupam Kher during the schedule. Cinematography
by Harmeet Singh, art by Bijon Das Gupta, lyrics by
Sameer and music by Sanjeev-Darshan are other major
credits.

Final
stint of Jodi No 1
Director David Dhawan and producers Dhiraj Shah,
Pravin Shah and Hasmukh Shah commenced a 27-day final
shooting schedule for Time Film Internationals
Jodi No.1 on October 15, on eleven different sets built
at different studios. A song and many scenes are being
picturised during the schedule. Sanjay Dutt, Govinda,
Twinkle Khanna, Monica Bedi, Ashok Saraf, Sayaji Shinde
and Anupam Kher play key roles in the film.

Ashiqui Deewangi launched
Producer-director Vimal Kumar launched Ashiqui Deewangi
on October 2 with a song recording. Penned by Sameer,
it was rendered by Sonu Nigam and Prabha Bharati under
the baton of Nadeem-Shravan. The star cast and other
credits of the film, written by Javed Siddique, are
being finalised.

Producer-director Shakeel Nooranis maiden
directorial venture Joru Ka Ghulam celebrated its successful
100 days run at many cinemas in the country. The film
starring Govinda and Twinkle Khanna in the lead, has
music by Aadesh Shrivastav.

Ashok Pandit’s film rolls
Wellknown television director Ashok Pandit, who
rose to fame with Filmi Chakkar and Tere Mere Sapne
made his big screen debut on October 12 with the launch
of his still untitled film being made under the banner
of Sai Shiv Films Pvt. Ltd.
The film, based on Kashmir problem, stars Anupam Kher
and Bengali actress Nandana Sen. Music by Lalit Sen,
story by Dr. Agnishekar and screenplay-dialogue by Raman
Kumar are other major credits. Mahesh Bhatt is the creative
consultant of the film. A start-to-finish shooting schedule
will commence in December at Himachal Pradesh.
