FDC on war path with producers

The Film Distributors Council (FDC) which comprises distributors of Delhi-UP, East Punjab, Bihar and West Bengal are on the war path with producers. This time, the issue is the satellite rights which the producers want to sell one year after the theatrical release of their films. The issue, which has been hanging fire for the last six months could not be resolved at a joint meeting between Film Makers Combine (FMC) and FDC on October 21 in Delhi. The meeting ended in a fiasco , resulting in the producers walking out of the meeting.

Now the FDC insists that the producers should not sell satellite rights after one year, while the producers emphasise that considering the changes in film business patterns over the years, the distributors should heed to their request, as the Central Cine Circuit Association has done.
