Marathon 15-day spell for Dil Dhoondta Hia
Producer Tahir Hussain and director Anwar Pasha will be canning some dramatic scenes while choreographer Rekha Chinni Prakash will can a song on newcomers Shoaib Khan and Divya during a 15-day stint at Chandivali Studios and various Mumbai locales for A1-Tahir Entertainments’ Dil Dhoondta Hai. A part of a song will also be canned on Shoaib Khan and debutante Devi Sri by choreographer Raju Khan. Maya Alagh, Farhad Nathani, Meenal Patel, Raju Thakkar, Ved Thapar, Shehzad Khan and Mushtaq Merchant will also be participating in the schedule, concluding on August 28. Story by Anwar Pasha, screenplay by Tahir Hussain, Shahnaz T Khan and Anwar Pasha, dialogues by Madan Joshi, cinematography by Munir Khan, art by Shib Shankar, dances by Saroj Khan, Rekha Chinni Prakash and Raju Khan and editing by Ajay Srivastava are the major credits.

Musical launching for Tahir Hussain’s next venture

Producer Tahir Hussain’s next ambitious venture, A1-Tahir Entertainments’ yet untitled Prod. No.2 was off to a musical start at Saba Studio on August 10 with the recording of the first song. Penned by Noor Amrohi, the song was recorded in the voice of Sonu Nigam and new singer Alifia Hassan under the baton of music directors Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen. In all, seven songs will be recorded till August 17 in the voices of Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Sudesh Bhosle, Jaspinder Narula, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shabbir Kumar. To be directed by Vinay A Laad, the film stars Milind Gunaji, Shoaib Khan, Divya, Devi Sri, Prem Chopra, Laxmikant Berde, Tiku Talsania, Tabassum and Ashok Beniwaal. One more heroine is yet to be finalised. The film has story by Tahir Hussain, screenplay by Shahnaz T Khan, dialogues by Rashid Kanpuri, lyrics by Tahir Hussain, Vijay Akela and Noor Amrohi, cinematography by Sameer Athalye and editing by Mukhtar Ahmed. Other cast and credits will be announced soon and the film will go on the floors shortly.

Nitin-Ramgopal’s venture makes progress

A nine-day spell for Dream Merchants Enterprise’s Prod. No.2 which is being jointly produced by Nitin Manmohan and Ram Gopal Varma, was held at Venus Recording building, various Mumbai streets and a suburban bungalow till August 14 wherein many vital talkie portions are being filmed by director E. Niwas on Saif Ali Khan, Aftab Shivdasani, Fardeen Khan, Sonali Bendre and Twinkle Khanna. The film also features T Bharani and Sudha (both from South), Dalip Tahil and Suresh Bhagwat. Music by Vishal Bharadwaj, lyrics by Abbas Tyrewala, story-screenplay-dialogues by Rajnish Thakur, cinematography by Venkat Prasad, art by R Varman and sound by Jagmohan Anand are the major credits.

Ashish Vidharthi in Zindagi Khoobsoorat Hai

Ashish Vidhyarthi has been signed to play the leading role with Gurudas Maan and Tabu in Sain Productions’ musical film Zindagi Khoobsoorat Hai, a film about human relations and their aspirations. Being produced by Manjeet Maan and directed by Manoj Punj, it is written by Suraj Sanim and has music by Anand Raj Anand.

Mastana in Mauritius

The unit of United Films Combines’ Mastana were in Mauritius from July 31 for a 15-day shooting stint wherein two songs and scenes were picturised on Govinda, Mahima Chaudhary, Jackie Shroff, Arun Govil, Jaspal Bhatti, Anjan Srivastava, Tiku Talsania, Avtar Gill and Upasna Singh. The film is being produced by Vasant Doshi and directed by Parto Ghosh. Written by Ranbir Pushp, the film has dialogue by Anwar Khan, music by Rajesh Roshan, lyrics by Maya Govind, Ibrahim Ashq and Nitin Raikwar, dances by Rekha Chinni Prakash and Ganesh Acharya, cinematography by Sameer Reddy, art by Ajit Dandekar, sound by Prakash Bhatia and editing by Sanjay Verma. Kamlesh Doshi is the executive producer.

Sonali Kulkarni Dil Chahta Hai

Sonali Kulkarni has been signed to play one of the leading ladies in Dil Chahta Hia. The film also stars Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Preity Zinta and Dimple Kapadia. Being directed by Farhan Akhtar from his own story, it is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani.

Post-production for Prashnachinh

The dubbing and other post-production work of Bhagwati Samarth Pictures’ Prashnachinh, written and directed by Ajay Phansekar, commenced recently in Mumbai. Produced by Jairaj Patil and Ajay Phansekar, the film stars Naseeruddin Shah, Tara Deshpande, Akash Khurana, Ratna Pathak-Shah, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Deepak Shirke, Avtar Gill, Sanjeeva, Brajesh Tripathi and Rajendra Mehra. Action by Raam Shetty, music by Amar Mohile, cinematography by B Laxman and editing by Arun Shekhar are the other credits.

Soch unit back from UK, Scotland

The unit of Zeekay Films P. Ltd.s’ Soch returned recently following a 15-day marathon shooting schedule in England and Scotland where two songs and many scenes were picturised on Sanjay Kapoor and Raveena Tandon. The film co-stars Aditi Govitikar, Arbaaz Khan, Sunil Nagar, Yunus Parwaiz, Mac Mohan and Danny Denzongpa. Written and directed by Seeshen Bhatnagar, the film is produced by Dr. Wijahat Kareem. Dr. Mrs. Surheeta Kareem is the co-producer while Rizwan Ullah is the associate producer Dialogue by Atul Tiwari, cinematography by Rajan Kothari and editing by Umesh Gupta are the other credits.

Chandani Bar launched

Shlok Films’ Chandani Bar was launched on August 7 at Night Lovers Bar Andheri. Shyam Shroff broke the auspicious coconut and Gulsaheb sounded the muhurat clapper board while Madhur Bhandarkar directed the inaugural shot as Tabu and Atul Kulkarni faced the camera for muhurat shot. The film also stars Suhas Palsikar, Shree Vallabh Vyas, Vinay Apte, Ananya, Abhay Bhargav, Shamim Shekh, Seema Adhikari, Upendra Limay, Varun Vardan, Raj Anna, Dinesh Shetty, Jaikar Anna and Raghuvir Yadav. Based on a story by Madhur Bhandarkar, the film has screenplay Mohan Azad, dialogue by Masood Mirza, cinematography by Rajeev Ravi, dances by Kishor Oresk and art by Prajnna and Yashwat Patil. A ten-day shooting spell commenced from August 10 at Ramoji Rao Studio, in Hyderabad.

Dharmendra, Nirmal Pandey face camera
Manav Enterprises’ Aandhi Aur Toofan was launched on July 30, at Soochak Bungalow, Madh Island, Esel Studios, Film City and on locales in Mumbai with a five-day shooting stint. Dharmendra and Nirmal Pandey faced the camera for the muhurat shot. The clap board was sounded by Sagar Saraswat, son of producer Ashok Saraswat and the auspicious coconut was broken by production controller Sant Singh. Also in the cast are Sanjavni Gupta, newfind Preeti Butani, Hemant Birje, Upasna Singh, Pinky Chinoi, Pushpa Verma, SR Pratap, G Harish Kumar, Pramod Moutho and Sadashiv Amrapurkar. The film is being produced by Ashok Saraswat and Peter Almeida and is directed by S.R. Pratap from his own story. Written by Khaleed Jameel, it has lyrics by Ravi Chopra, music by Amod Bhatt, cinematography by Hira Saroj, action by Prem Sharma, sound by AK Anthony and art by Mangal Singh.
